Happy Homemade Holidays!

Its the Thought that Counts!
Here we go again, its that time of year, time for the "office gift exchange".  I am perfectly capable of channeling my inner most Cindy Lou Hou, however, loathe the custom of purchasing a gift for someone I sortaknow, for $25 or less, that I am fairly certain will end up at somebody's white elephant party.

Nothing says Thank You to a co-worker LESS then a tin of popcorn or a meaningful box of cookies from a random bakery you found online by typing in "Cookies, Gift, Free Shipping".

This year I am trying something new.  Since I am one of THOSE people my lovely husband refers to as a "Crafter" and since most people i sortaknow love homemade crap, this year, I am living up to that name by copying something fabulous I saw on The Decorated Cookie:

Snowman Hot Cocoa Jar from The Decorated Cookie
What you need:
 Mason jars
Marshmallows
Black and Orange edible pens (Sur La Table carries these)
Hot cocoa mix (optional)
Cellophane favor bags
Tags, stickers and ribbon (to label so you get the credit)

How to Assemble:
Use edible pens to make snowman faces on marshmallows. Let dry about an hour. Fill a favor bag with some hot cocoa mix (about a cup) and twist closed with a tie. Use the favor bag to keep things tidy, but you can or add the mix right to the jar. Place the favor bag of cocoa in the jar with the tied area in the middle at the top. Place marshmallows around the top of the cocoa facing out of the jar. Close with lid.

Add your own personalized sticker to the top of the jar, or attach a tag with the cocoa recipe using a piece of card stock, a hole punch and a piece of ribbon.

Good luck!
