I love it there which is why I usually stay away. I can swing by on my way home from work for the organic boxed tomatoe sauce I like and come out, $45 poorer, with a bag full of one freshly baked baguette that was so fresh that the steam was still collecting underneath the plastic, some fresh asparagus that is already cut and seasoned the way I like even though we have dinner plans for the next several nights and I am not sure when I would eat it, a ball of hand stretched mozzarella from the man that was giving a live demo and I ate so much while I stood there watching that I HAD to buy something (it would go perfect with the baguette). And some fig jam, even though I already have some at home. Cause I might run out....someday....and I would be so sad if I didn’t have a backup in the cabinet to go with my mozzarella and baguette. Anyway, I did learn something my last $57 trek through for a piece of fresh salmon for dinner. They will instruct you how to cook it to bring out its best flavor and they will SEASON YOUR FISH FOR FREE! Yes, that is correct. You walk up to the fish counter, pick out any slab of freshly caught, wild whatever, and ask if they could season it for you. The lovely fisherman behind the counter will pull out his list of 12 different seasonings for you to choose from. Cajun, Lemon and Thyme, Fresh Herbs...the list goes on.
Recently, I chose the freshest piece of pink salmon and asked for it seasoned with Tequila Lime. Ridiculous.
And it was free. Enjoy.

I LOVE THIS!!!! I have never spent less than $60. It is my happy place.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new fan of the WF in Lakewood especially since they picked all the meat for me for a beautiful fat dungeness crab. No wonder crab MEAT costs so much.... it's a pain in the ass. Love the blog!
