I hate it, I always have. I am one of those gals that prefers to be surrounded by noise, that prefers to have the radio on in the background, that prefers the sound of traffic and sirens and the kind of gal that prefers falling asleep to the Biography Channel.
I used to pay my sister $5 to sit on my bed while I cleaned my room just for the company and if she lived closer I might even give her an increase for inflation to $10 to swing by and keep me company when the clothing explosion that is my closet gets out of control, at age 34.
This weekend, my lovely man had a "guys weekend" in New York City, my favorite city, so I had a girls weekend, in Dallas, and you all know by now how I feel about the D. But it was a lovely time. The below transpired:
- An hour of beauty secret tips and pointers, "my man is better then most men because" stories, recipe swapping, favorite blog lists, and of course, our 5-10 year life plan with my chicas Catherine and Annie. I heart them both.
- Consumption of homemade Hummus, made by Catherine, recipe found on her blog Fish and Veggies, served with toasted pita and Ravenswood Shiraz followed by a Margarita Pizza from Eatzi's Market and Bakery (heaven on earth).
- A viewing of the Hangover (can't get enough of that Bradley Cooper and his hair and his wit and his...well, his face!).
- Spa pedicure and reflexology foot massage at Soho Ped Spa after brunch at the Bronx Cafe with Alyssa.
- A long late lingering lunch at Taverna with Catherine that included 2 glasses of white wine, 4 Bellinis, 2 Caprese salads and an order of Scampi al Forno con Polenta.
- A Dallas Cowboys game watching brunch at the In-Laws in Highland Park.
- Shopping (minor damage done) at Off 5th and Nordstrom Rack on Park Lane.
- An evening with the Golden Globes on the couch while annihilating a giant bowl of Guacamole and simultaniously video chatting with my sister in New Jersey.
Now that is what I call a weekend....if I am forced to be separated from my lovely man.

A good weekend by any standards. I'm grateful for you my friend.
